Softball Recap: Farmington Wins Going Away Against Roy

While Farmington put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Roy. The Phoenix put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 13-0 victory. Considering the Phoenix have won nine matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lill Topham tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kiley Gazafy was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Ogzewalla, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Farmington hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Farmington's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Roy, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Looking ahead, Farmington will look to defend their home field on Monday against West Jordan at 3:30 p.m. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Phoenix surely won't give up without a fight. As for Roy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Northridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
