Brantley Bruggink was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Olivia Robinson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Hixson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Notre Dame struck out six times.
Hixson's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Notre Dame, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Hixson Wildcats take on Red Bank Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Bank has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.33 runs per game on average), something Hixson will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Notre Dame, they will venture away from home to challenge Boyd-Buchanan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyd-Buchanan will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Notre Dame surely won't give up without a fight.
