The Rapides Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season. They took their contest at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 65-35 victory over Avoyelles. The win made it back-to-back wins for Rapides.
Christopher Newton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydan Wilson, who scored 15 points.
Rapides pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.67 points. As for Avoyelles, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Rapides will head out on the road to face off against Holy Savior Menard at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Avoyelles, they will look to defend their home court on January 5, 2024 against Bunkie at 6:00 p.m.
