The Robinson Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Tampa Prep Terrapins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Robinson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
Robinson struggled with assists on Friday (Leto had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Robinson was dealt a 73-46 loss at the hands of Leto. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Robinson has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Robinson had strong showings from Dylan Russell, who scored 17 points, and LaJesse Harrold, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Mickens, who scored ten points.
Robinson struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tampa Prep put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Weeki Wachee for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-29 victory at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-11.
Robinson has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Tampa Prep, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
Robinson skirted past Tampa Prep 56-54 in their previous meeting back in December of 2020. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Tampa Prep's Valentino Hart, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Robinson to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
