Thrall took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let Fayetteville get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jack Gustafson made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Gustafson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Bryce Brinkmeyer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Weston Smiley, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Thrall always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Rogers fell victim to Franklin and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 7-0 to the Lions. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.
Camdon Bartek made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
Thrall's victory bumped their record up to 5-9-1. As for Rogers, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
