Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hesperia Christian

Hesperia Christian entered their tilt with University Prep on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They strolled past the University Prep Jaguars with points to spare, taking the game 68-53. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 69-37 on January 7th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hesperia Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Lake, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Lake a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Flores, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Hesperia Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matches.

University Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of JOSHUA OKEKE, who posted 21 points, and DONALD McFARLIN, who had 15 points.

Hesperia Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for University Prep, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hesperia Christian will square off against Riverside Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hesperia Christian is facing Riverside Prep at the right time seeing as Riverside Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for University Prep, they will challenge Academy for Academic Excellence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
