Jellico has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Carter Green Hornets at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Jellico's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests.
Last Tuesday, Jellico was fully in charge, breezing past Oakdale 83-50 at home. That looming 83-50 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Jellico yet this season.
Jellico can attribute much of their success to Carson Bolton, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten assists, and John Zecchini, who scored 23 points. The match was Bolton's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Vann, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Carter had to settle for a 53-50 defeat against Campbell County on Tuesday.
Jellico is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Carter, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.
