Basketball Recap: Duncanville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Duncanville extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Kayden Edwards. The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes wrapped up 2024 with a 79-65 win over the Blake Yellow Jackets thanks in part to Edwards, who went 12 for 21 on his way to 30 points. He has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 16 times he's played.

Despite the loss, Blake still got an impressive performance from Joshua Lewis, who went 12 of 22 on his way to 32 points and four steals. Those 32 points gave Lewis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Philon, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Duncanville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Blake, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Duncanville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 95-90 victory against Oak Ridge on the 28th. As for Blake, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-50 win against North Broward Prep on the 28th.
