The Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 57-52 victory over Nashville Christian on Tuesday. The win was just what Mount Juliet Christian Academy needed coming off of a 56-36 loss in their prior match.
Mount Juliet Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Greeir Goddard-hammond scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and Christian Frewin scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goddard-hammond has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brenden Dunn, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Mount Juliet Christian Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Nashville Christian, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Juliet Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Commanders at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Friendship Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully the Saints likes a good challenge. As for Nashville Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
