The Eastern Comets lost against the Clinton Central Bulldogs back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Eastern suffered a rough 53-29 loss at the hands of Clinton Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Eastern in their matchups with Clinton Central: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Comets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marly Coan, who scored five points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Odle, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
It was another big night for Sara Parkison, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds for Clinton Central. The contest was Parkison's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Erika Robbins was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Eastern has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Clinton Central, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.
Eastern's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Tipton at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Tipton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Clinton Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Taylor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 399th, while Clinton Central is ranked 65th).
