The Spring Valley Grizzlies will head out on the road to take on the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Spring Valley is ranked 30th, while the Crusaders are ranked 17th).
Spring Valley pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-61 to Coronado. Spring Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Faith Lutheran waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Palo Verde 55-40.
Faith Lutheran's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Raina Forgue, who scored 16 points along with five steals, and Tamiah Harrison, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Harrison continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Herpin, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Spring Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Faith Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Spring Valley might still be hurting after the 70-44 loss they got from the Crusaders in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Spring Valley, Leah Mitchell (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
