The Gulf Breeze Dolphins won the last time they faced the Pensacola Tigers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Gulf Breeze came out on top against Pensacola by a score of 43-36.
Hutson Rowe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Gulf Breeze's points. Another player making a difference was Roman Jackson, who scored seven points along with four steals and three blocks.
Braylen Steele and Zac Clarke certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Steele scored 14 points along with four steals, while Clarke scored 13 points.
Gulf Breeze has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Pensacola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gulf Breeze's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pensacola Catholic at 8:30 p.m. on January 19th. Pensacola Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 598th, while Gulf Breeze is ranked 243rd). As for Pensacola, they will head out on the road to face off against Escambia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Escambia is on a four-game streak of home losses, Pensacola a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
