The Brandon Eagles lost against the Durant Cougars back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Brandon took a serious blow against Durant, falling 58-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brandon in their matchups with Durant: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Brandon saw an underclassman step up: Sofia Caserta scored 12 points. Caserta scored a full 57.1% of Brandon's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mikaiah Hallback was the offensive standout of the contest as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Durant's points. Elani-hazel Randall was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 10 rebounds.
Brandon now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Durant, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Brandon will be playing at home against East Bay at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Durant, they will head out on the road to face off against Bloomingdale at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloomingdale is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
