If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Lee's Summit. On Friday they will take on Truman at 7:00 PM. Lee's Summit don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Lee's Summit took an ego-bruising loss against Lee's Summit North two weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Friday. Lee's Summit got past Liberty North with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 34-30. Junior Darrias Pearsall, who rushed for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Lee's Summit's success.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Truman, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to eight. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 0-21 punch to the gut against Hickman last Friday.
Lee's Summit's win lifted them to 7-3 while Truman's defeat dropped them down to 0-8. We'll find out if Lee's Summit can add another positive mark to their record or if Truman can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Lee's Summit's step.
