Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Independence). Everything went their way against the Mission Oak Hawks on Saturday as the Independence Falcons made off with an 80-60 win. With that victory, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.

Independence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Xavier O'Neal, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarius Rowel, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points and five steals.

Despite the loss, Mission Oak still got an impressive performance from Joaquin Torrez, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 22 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Torrez a new career-high in steals. Antonio Sanchez was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Mission Oak, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Independence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-42 victory against Sierra on the 30th. As for Mission Oak, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 97-90 defeat against Justin Garza on the 30th.
