The Fairfield Central Griffins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Keenan by a score of 54-51. While losing is never fun, Fairfield Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Keenan is ranked 50th).
When it comes to explaining why Fairfield Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordyn Adams. Despite the final result, she scored 28 points along with four steals. That was a full 54.9% of Fairfield Central's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jazzlyn McMillan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two blocks.
Keenan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taelor Lee-sutton out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Samiyah Hicks, who scored ten points.
Fairfield Central's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-13. As for Keenan, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-8.
Fairfield Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Keenan also has no future games currently scheduled.
