Brunswick Academy has gone 8-2 against Kenston Forest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Brunswick Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 16-0 margin over Tidewater Academy on Tuesday. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.
Cole Powell was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Powell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Jake McAden looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
Back at the plate, Brunswick Academy let Ross Reese and Nathan Wells run wild. Reese scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Wells went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave Reese a new career-high. Bryce Holloway was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Brunswick Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tidewater Academy only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Kenston Forest's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Tuesday. They fell 5-2 to Southampton Academy. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Kavaliers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Kenston Forest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tine Sledd, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Roy Shepherd also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Brunswick Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Kenston Forest, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Brunswick Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Kenston Forest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
