Fenton (Mich.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Brennen Clarke in the first quarter, the Tigers led 34-14 at the half.
Fenton expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. FHS scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Trent Grimes.
The loss snapped the Dragons' 7-game winning streak.
Damon Thomas played well for the Tigers in the victory. The senior wide receiver caught two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
Swartz Creek came in surrendering 12.9 points per game this season. SC struggled against Fenton's offense, which entered the game scoring 31.3 points per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, FHS came away with a 31-7 victory.
The loss comes after Swartz Creek defeated Lapeer East 42-6 last week.
Fenton (7-1) goes up against Lapeer West in a Flint Metro game matchup next week, while Swartz Creek (7-1) locks horns with Linden also in a Flint Metro game.
