4A District 5 recap October 8, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A District 5 this week, Cocoa beat Cocoa Beach 55-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Space Coast scaled the state rankings by moving to 276 from 314 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vipers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Jones 28-24.
Nick Rittenhouse was a passing and rushing force as Space Coast defeated the Fightin' Tigers. He completed 15 passes for 165 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 137 yards. Rittenhouse's key target this week was Alec Dansereau, who caught 5 passes for 105 yards.
Bruce Judson threw for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Judson put up the best numbers through the air as Cocoa beat the Minutemen. Judson's favorite target this week was Jamel Dean, who caught 2 passes for 68 yards.
Space Coast's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vipers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rittenhouse has thrown for 1,256 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Dansereau has 37 catches for 521 yards. Rittenhouse also leads the league in rushing with 581 yards.
John Wilkinson's team led 4A District 5 in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Cocoa Beach. Judson ran for 89 yards in the win.
