The Malibu Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Fillmore on the road and fell 76-24. Malibu found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post ten fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Malibu still got an impressive performance from Dylan Goosen, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 79.2% of Malibu's points, marking the 14th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Fillmore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Weslow, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Octavio Orozco, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Malibu dropped their record down to 4-15 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Fillmore, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-17.
Malibu will take on Channel Islands at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Channel Islands focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Fillmore, they will head out on the road to face off against Carpinteria at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carpinteria will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Fillmore surely won't give up without a fight.
