It was a good run, but Sharon unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mercer Mustangs by a score of 3-2. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
Sharon took Mercer into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 16-14.
Sharon's loss came despite strong showings from Dani Currie and Emmalie Yobe. Currie had 25 digs and three aces, while Yobe had 31 assists and 17 digs. Yobe is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie McFann, who had 21 digs and one assist.
Anna Allen went supernova For Mercer., getting 24 digs and two assists. Those 24 digs gave Allen a new career-high. Kamiah Savage also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Sharon's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Mercer, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
