New Lothrop gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Morrice and snuck past 32-30.
Meanwhile, Bendle strolled past Hill-McCloy with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 54-37.
Bendle's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malik Neal, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Gabe Alomar, who scored 8 points along with 10 rebounds.
New Lothrop's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Bendle, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
New Lothrop lost to Bendle on the road by a decisive 75-59 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2018. Can New Lothrop avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
