The Liberty Hawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chavez Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Liberty rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over Firebaugh.
The critical scores for Liberty came from Talan Lamattina and Dolan Dilbeck.
Meanwhile, Chavez had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Sanger West at home to the tune of 56-28. The win was just what Chavez needed coming off of a 42-20 loss in their prior matchup.
Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Chavez, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Everything came up roses for Liberty against Chavez in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 as the squad secured a 27-0 victory. Does Liberty have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chavez turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
