Baseball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Sebastopol

Sebastopol had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Richland on Tuesday. Everything went the Sebastopol Bobcats' way against the Richland Rangers as the Sebastopol Bobcats made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Bobcats have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Colby Dooley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Connally Gaddis, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Luke McGarrity was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Sebastopol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Richland only posted an OBP of .250.

The victory (which was Sebastopol's sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Richland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sebastopol will take on Choctaw Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sebastopol is facing Choctaw Central at the right time seeing as Choctaw Central is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Richland, they will square off against Benton Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Richland has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
