The Madison Patriots won against the Hiwassee Dam Eagles last Friday with 69 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Madison enjoyed a cozy 69-50 win over Hiwassee Dam. That looming 69-50 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Madison yet this season.
Madison found their leader in underclassman Gavin Gault, who scored 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gault has scored at least 25% of Madison's points. Another player making a difference was Jason Eighmey, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Madison's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Hiwassee Dam, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Madison will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Andrews at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Andrews focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday. As for Hiwassee Dam, they will play host again and welcome Mitchell, where tip off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Mitchell's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
