It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the East Nashville Magnet Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-14 victory over Liberty Creek. Considering East Nashville Magnet has won ten games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading East Nashville Magnet to victory were Elijah Usher and Kelan Anderson. Usher rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown, while Anderson rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Anderson hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East Nashville Magnet's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ladonnis Mcglothen jr. and Tion Curry who racked up four sacks between them.
The victory (which was East Nashville Magnet's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points per game. As for Liberty Creek, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
East Nashville Magnet's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Dyersburg. Dyersburg is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Liberty Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
