Basketball Game Preview: Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA vs. Montverde Academy Gold Eagles

The Central Pointe Christian Academy CPCA will challenge the Montverde Academy Gold Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Pointe Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Central Pointe Christian Academy came up short against DME Academy Regional and fell 57-45. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the CPCA came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while DME Academy Regional are ranked 70th).

The losing side was boosted by Sofia Perez, who posted 16 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gabriela Escobar, who earned ten points.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Montverde Academy Gold challenged Southeastern Prep Academy last Monday. Montverde Academy Gold enjoyed a cozy 68-53 win over Southeastern Prep Academy.

Central Pointe Christian Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season. As for Montverde Academy Gold, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Central Pointe Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Montverde Academy Gold in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, winning 78-71.
