After each having a week off, the Potter-Dix Coyotes and the Hay Springs Hawks will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Potter-Dix is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Peetz. Potter-Dix took down Peetz 62-43 two weeks ago.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Potter-Dix's defensive line and their three sacks. In that department, Dylan Tabor was the leader with two. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in rushing yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Potter-Dix was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 412 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peetz only rushed for 300.
Meanwhile, Hay Springs took care of business in their home opener two weeks ago. They strolled past Paxton with points to spare, taking the game 28-14.
Hay Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Raymer out in front who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Raymer also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending a pass. Talan Smith was another key player, gaining 88 total yards and a touchdown.
Hay Springs wouldn't let Paxton keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Hay Springs can thank Evan Smith and Talan for forcing both of them. Talan also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing a fumble, and making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss).
