They took their matchup on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 71-21 win over Mundy's Mill. The win was just what Woodward Academy needed coming off of a 81-60 defeat in their prior match.
Woodward Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kayla Whitner, who scored 18 points, and Kameron Herring, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Herring has scored at least 25% of Woodward Academy's points. Z Williams was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Lovejoy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Woodward Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Lovejoy beat Woodward Academy 58-51 in their previous meeting back in February. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Woodward Academy's Sara Lewis, who scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
