The Valdosta Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-28 loss at the hands of Lowndes. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valdosta has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lowndes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aryana Thomas, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Kimora Wade, who scored 18 points.
Valdosta dropped their record down to 14-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lowndes, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valdosta and Colquitt County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Lowndes, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Lowndes likes a good challenge.
