While it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, The ThunderRidge Grizzlies were not quite the Rock Canyon Jaguars''s equal in the second half on Friday. ThunderRidge's tough 34-14 loss to Rock Canyon might stick with them for a while. ThunderRidge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rock Canyon apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
ThunderRidge's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nick Seng, who picked up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.
It was another big night for Tyler Meyer, who rushed for 260 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Meyer really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Owen Arnold was another key contributor, rushing for 107 yards and a touchdown.
ThunderRidge's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.3 points per game. As for Rock Canyon, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.
ThunderRidge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rock Canyon will take on Arvada West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The pair might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.
