Forge Christian has gone a perfect 4-0 against Prospect Ridge Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Fury will challenge the Miners at 7:00 p.m. Forge Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Prospect Ridge Academy likes a good challenge.
Forge Christian took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Manitou Springs 63-0. That 63 point margin sets a new team best for the Fury this season.
Quentin Torres was his usual excellent self, picking up 107 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 65 yards.all of that, rushing production came thanks to one massive run Treysen Eye was in the mix too, providing Forge Christian with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Forge Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 209 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 166 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Torres, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Prospect Ridge Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 21-8 victory over the Timberwolves.
Forge Christian better keep an eye on Ryan Knopf. He was instrumental in Prospect Ridge Academy's win, rushing for 89 yards and one score.
Forge Christian's record now sits at 4-1. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their record is now 3-1.
Thursday's game might be decided in the trenches. Forge Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 188 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Prospect Ridge Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 88 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Forge Christian against Prospect Ridge Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fury since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
