The Del Norte Knights will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hope Christian Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Del Norte is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
Last Wednesday, Del Norte ended up a good deal behind the Chargers and lost 71-52. While losing is never fun, Del Norte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Chargers are ranked tenth).
Despite the loss, Del Norte saw an underclassman step up: Francois Satchivi scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelo Bermudez, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Pojoaque Valley scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Hope Christian still came out on top. Everything went Hope Christian's way against the Elks/Elkettes as the Huskies made off with a 81-56 win. Hope Christian pushed the score to 67-40 by the end of the third, a deficit the Elks/Elkettes cut but never quite recovered from.
Del Norte has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Hope Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.
