The Northwest Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 72-33 loss at the hands of Whitehorse. Northwest was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.
It was another big night for Lyric Phillips, who scored 28 points for Whitehorse. That makes it four consecutive games in which Phillips has scored at least a third of Whitehorse's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Larenz Tsosie, who scored 15 points.
Northwest's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-11. As for Whitehorse, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Northwest will head out on the road to challenge Coronado at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Coronado is ranked 141st, while Northwest is ranked 148th). As for Whitehorse, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Green River at 7:00 p.m. Green River has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 546 points over their last eight contests.
