Springfield Renaissance put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat John J. Duggan Academy 67-25 at home. Considering Springfield Renaissance has won four matchups by more than 25 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Springfield Renaissance got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maya Ocana-saunders out in front who scored 20 points. That's the first time this season that Ocana-saunders scored 15 or more points. Zi'yan Wallace was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Springfield Renaissance's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for John J. Duggan Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Springfield Renaissance will stay at home for another game and welcome Granby at 6:30 p.m. on December 22nd. John J. Duggan Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hampden Charter School of Science at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
