The Soledad Aztecs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenfield. Soledad was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Soledad's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pedro Morales Jr, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Anikan Tavarez, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Soledad dropped their record down to 7-13 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Greenfield, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.
Soledad will head out on the road to face off against the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Gonzales is ranked 1105th, while the Bruins are ranked 1130th).
