The Collinsville Kahoks will head out on the road to face off against the Staunton Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Collinsville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Collinsville's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They didn't even let East St. Louis on the board, marking the Kahoks' second-straight 15-0 shutout. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Carson Parrill made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Parrill was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Luke Robinson was a standout: he got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Collinsville is 4-1 when Robinson posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Grant Darden, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.
Staunton came out on top against Carlinville on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Bulldogs walked away with an 8-3 win over the Cavaliers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Staunton saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zander Machota, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Staunton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are undefeated (5-0) when they post 11 or more hits.
Collinsville's record is now 8-13. As for Staunton, their record now sits at 10-8-1.
Collinsville's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Kahoks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Staunton, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Collinsville continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Collinsville's way against Staunton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Collinsville made off with a 10-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Kahoks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
