After a string of five wins, the Nitro Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Fairmont. Nitro was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as East Fairmont apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Nitro lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Timmy Lovejoy, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ty Stephens, who scored 19 points.
Nitro's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for East Fairmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nitro will take on Poca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Nitro focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for East Fairmont, they will head out on the road to take on Philip Barbour at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
