The biggest upset of the week belonged to Vasquez, who took down 961st ranked Mammoth, 9-6. Hector Hernandez caught four passes for 90 yards in the win.
Austyn Fink and D.J. Payne provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Capistrano Valley Christian. The longest such play in Desert Mountain this season, the connection resulted in 73 yards.
Boron's dynamic duo of Fink and Jadrian Wiser proved tough for the Eagles to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fink threw for 480 yards and six touchdowns and Wiser had 148 yards receiving. Payne helped Boron's passing attack out by catching three balls for 145 yards.
Tyler Wormhoudt was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 171 yards on 26 carries as the Huskies topped Capistrano Valley Christian. Denis Orrick also contributed to the rushing game with 22 yards on the ground.
Boron's Fink and Wiser have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Fink has thrown for 2507 yards this season, while Wiser, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 44 catches for 965 yards. Mammoth's Wormhoudt leads the league in rushing yards with 962.
The top two teams in Desert Mountain will face off this week when first place Boron takes on second place Silver Valley. Todd Fink's team defeated Dan Dodd's team last week, while Silver Valley topped Riverside Prep.
The Bobcats' Wiser is a few successful plays short of surpassing 1,000 yards receiving this season. He needs only 35 receiving yards against the Trojans to hit that benchmark.
Wormhoudt of the Marty Thompson's team is only 38 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Silver Valley takes on Boron. John Stewart's team has allowed 156 points this season, while the Bobcats have given up 67. The Trojans allowed 0 points last week as they bested the Silver Knights.
Boron extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Eagles, 64-6. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bobcats.
