Southwestern recap Oct. 30, 2012
Vista Murrieta extended the longest winning streak in Southwestern this week by beating Murrieta Mesa, 52-0. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Broncos.
Vista Murrieta took down the Rams 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Brock Dudley was the best wideout in the league this week as Temecula Valley fell to Great Oak. Dudley tallied four receptions for 105 yards. Griffin Doran helped Temecula Valley's passing attack out by catching three balls for 23 yards.
Carson Luna put up the best numbers through the air as the Wolfpack defeated the Golden Bears. He finished with a total of five completions for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Luna's favorite target this week was Raekwon Yates, who caught two passes for 66 yards.
Justin Harris was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 217 yards on 34 carries as Chaparral lost to Great Oak. Skyler Seibold also contributed to the rushing game with 33 yards on the ground.
Murrieta Mesa's Chase Chambers and Khalil Sharpe have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Southwestern in both passing and receiving yards. Chambers has thrown for 2037 yards this season, while Sharpe, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 67 catches for 738 yards. Harris from the Pumas leads the league in rushing with 1379 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Coley Candaele's team takes on Chaparral. The Broncos are in first place, while Ryan Tukua's team is in third place.
Vista Murrieta led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Justin Schaeffer's team.
