It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Sundown Roughnecks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Tahoka 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Sundown has posted yet this season.
Allie McCormick continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sundown's points. Another player making a difference was Camry Jourden, who scored two points along with 12 rebounds and nine steals.
Sundown is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. As for Tahoka, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Sundown will be playing in front of their home fans against Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tahoka, they will head out on the road to square off against Seagraves at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Seagraves comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
