The Eastmoor Academy Warriors suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Bishop Ready on the road and fell 68-35. Eastmoor Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.
Eastmoor Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elijah Watkins, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Wooden, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Eastmoor Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Bishop Ready, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastmoor Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Walnut Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Walnut Ridge is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Bishop Ready, they will head out on the road to face off against Grandview Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grandview Heights will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 669th, while Bishop Ready is ranked 87th).
