Westgate extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 10-8. They fell 15-12 to St. Martinville. If Westgate was looking for revenge after losing 18-5 to St. Martinville when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

ARYO FLEMING made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Westgate: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. RAHIM ALEM was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
As for St. Martinville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On St. Martinville's side, Kamryn LeBlanc was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave LeBlanc a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Andon Smith was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Logan Bienvenu, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Coming up, Westgate will be playing in front of their home fans against Rayne at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Martinville, they will venture away from home to square off against Abbeville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.95 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
