Basketball Recap: Arbor View Comes Up Short

Arbor View managed to keep up with Desert Pines until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Arbor View Aggies lost 77-52 to the Desert Pines Jaguars. The Aggies have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Desert Pines had a senior duo take command as Mya Harper went 8 of 15 on her way to 22 points along with six boards and five assists and Anaiah Brown went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points and seven rebounds. Those six boards gave Harper a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashanti Stewart, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Arbor View's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Desert Pines, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arbor View will square off against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Democracy Prep Agassi Campus will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Arbor View surely won't give up without a fight. As for Desert Pines, they will head out to face off against Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Spring Valley will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Desert Pines surely won't give up without a fight.
