The Neligh-Oakdale Warriors will head out to face off against the Elgin/Pope John Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Neligh-Oakdale's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
Neligh-Oakdale is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Creighton: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Warriors blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 66-24 final score. With the Warriors ahead 36-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Neligh-Oakdale found their leader in sophomore Cooper Arehart, who rushed for 151 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Those 151 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Arehart. Another player making a difference was Trevan Torres, who gained 168 total yards and three touchdowns.
Neligh-Oakdale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 218 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Neligh-Oakdale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Torres, Breckin Kight, and Tyler Furstenau picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 38 points the game before, Elgin/Pope John was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a blow against St. Mary's, falling 63-6. The Wolfpack were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.
Neligh-Oakdale's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points over those games. As for Elgin/Pope John, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Neligh-Oakdale has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 394.2 total yards per game. It's a different story for Elgin/Pope John, though, as they've been averaging only 202.2 total yards. Will Neligh-Oakdale be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Wolfpack flip the script?
