The Pen Argyl Green Knights will take on the Southern Lehigh Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Southern Lehigh's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Friday: Pen Argyl hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. The Green Knights never let Bangor get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Wednesday. While the Green Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Not much got past Jillian Bradley, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Bangor off the board. Bradley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Abby Scherer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madacyn Snyder, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Southern Lehigh, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Wilson Area with a sharp 14-2 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.
Delaney Young made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Young was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Isabella Germani was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Demi Lewis was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Southern Lehigh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilson Area only posted an OBP of .333.
Pen Argyl pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Southern Lehigh, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pen Argyl hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .346. However, it's not like Southern Lehigh struggles in that department as they've averaged .446. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pen Argyl came up short against Southern Lehigh in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 6-2. Will the Green Knights have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
