The Claremore Zebras will head out on the road to face off against the Will Rogers College Ropers at 7:00 p.m. Claremore will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Claremore missed an extra point against Bishop Kelley on Friday and it came back to haunt them. Claremore was just a hair shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Bishop Kelley. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (35), Claremore still had to take the loss.
Claremore's defeat came about despite a quality game from Braxton Etheridge, who threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Tyson Grimett also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Will Rogers College never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Nathan Hale 61-0 at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Will Rogers College as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Bishop Kelley's victory bumped their season record to 6-2 while Claremore's loss dropped theirs to 7-1-1.
Everything went Claremore's way against Will Rogers College when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as Claremore made off with a 23-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Claremore since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
