The McMinn Central Chargers and the Giles County Bobcats squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the McMinn Central Chargers had to settle for second. McMinn Central had to suffer through a rough 70-29 loss at the hands of Giles County. McMinn Central was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-22.
It was another big night for Kamauri A turner, who picked up 181 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Johnny Jackson was another key contributor, throwing for 262 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes.
McMinn Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Giles County, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
McMinn Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Giles County will head out on the road to face off against Meigs County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meigs County is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Giles County a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
