The Stebbins Indians's five-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They managed a 33-27 victory over Piqua. The win was just what Stebbins needed coming off of a 61-38 defeat in their prior contest.
Stebbins can attribute much of their success to Bryson Bishop, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Jessiah Brown was another key contributor, scoring five points.
When it comes to explaining why Piqua lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Martin. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Piqua were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stebbins only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Stebbins' victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Piqua, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Stebbins will be playing at home against Sidney at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Piqua, they will head out on the road to face off against West Carrollton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
