Softball Recap: Warren Wins Going Away Against Lynwood

Warren put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Lynwood Knights as they made off with a 15-0 victory. Considering the Bears have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sophia Munguia was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Cortez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Warren was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .741. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Warren has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lynwood, they dropped their record down to 2-14-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Warren nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
